In the 80's reading involved books

The replica cannon was donated by the Lake Wales Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. It originally stood on the north west lot of the Lake Wales Public Library, between the 1960 Library and the Chamber of Commerce Building.

It was moved to the grounds of the Depot Museum, where it still stands.
