Ok so Christie and I were working in Rhode Island and we took an extra day to go explore Newport. We drove up to this sign and I started cracking up. She looked at me huh??? What's so funny? What's purgatory??? That made it even funnier.
I of course said, "turn Right!"
She argued, "but where we are going is Left."
She's not Catholic so I had to explain Purgatory to her but I almost peed my pants doing it.
Needless to say we just made a U turn.

And here you are.

My apologies for another reposted shot.
The quote I used for this photo in my yet to be published book (if it ever gets published anyway) is,
"Whenever I talk, I would tell myself to listen."
... by Billy Joel is a song about lost youth and broken dreams and I think the song best decribe this photo and her. I've seen her wearing the same clothes around Khaosan Road for days. I was told that she's crazy and yesterday, I decided to ask to take her photo. I wasn't sure she understood what I asked.
Oh ya! The lyrics goes :
Its nine o'clock on a saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin love to his tonic and gin
He says, son, can you play me a memory?
I'm not really sure how it goes
But its sad and its sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes
La la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da
Chorus:
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin alright
Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be
He says, bill, I believe this is killing me.
As the smile ran away from his face
Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place
Oh, la la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da
Now paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talkin with davy who's still in the navy
And probably will be for life
And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin alone
Chorus
It's a pretty good crowd for a saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
cause he knows that its me they've been comin to see
To forget about life for a while
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, man, what are you doin here?
Oh, la la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da
Chorus

M is for Muppet Mayhem
Via Flickr:
I knew I had to do a Muppet photo for the letter M and this was the first idea that flew into my head so I went with it! A bit different than what I had envisioned but I like how it turned out.
Last night's Olympic opening ceremonies were incredible, while there were a few dud moments the overall show was a beautiful visual storytelling of Canada and it's people and it made me appreciate the beauty in both the geographical and social aspects of this great country. The effects they incorporated were so artistically amazing, the way they built the mountains and forests, my favourite parts were the skiers suspended on the mountains and the boy flying through the air.

Don't Run From Me!
Via Flickr:
Me 25 y.o. Swamps at Białowieża Forest.
Beautiful day - I remember it clearly - four of us went there: me, P.T. (who took for me that picture) and our beautiful girlfriends: Henrietta & Agnieszka. We took some magic mushrooms, the spring green of stinging nettles was incredibly perfect (the swarms of blood thirsted mosquitoes a bit less) at the end of that walk I had last picture left in my camera and needed to choose between two girls lying laughing in the middle of a pond of mud and pink mushrooms... Guess what I choose?
I used to dye my hair multiple colors but foxy red was always my favorite one - I dyed my eyebrows and pubic hair too :)

Well, Clearly I Feel I Ate Too Much...how about you?
Via Flickr:
I am more thankful for what I have than I'll ever understand. There are those not only in impoverished nations who go hungry every day, but those in our own cities and states. If you end up in a Turkey Coma tonight, just remember those who are not.
God bless each of you and your families and I'm thankful for your friendship and inspiration. I hope you are able to feel the love with whoever you are with today as well.
Good luck shopping tonight at 3am at Walmart.
