Patterned tree roots: A marriage between man-made order and chaotic forces of nature

- Tree roots are amazing, they may be thin, bendy and breakable but given time, they can break through stones. Unless of course there are thin cracks in the stones already then the roots will take those paths of least resistance through and widen what is already there. On patterned stone pavements, the paths of least resistance for the roots are the thin gaps between the stones so the results as seen here are pavement patterned tree roots.
